This course is designed for the beginner who has little to no experience reading EKGs. The course will cover the following topics:

-Difference between use of 3- and 12- lead EKGs

-critical interval measurements (PR interval, QRS duration, QTc)

-bradycardias

-tachycardias

-PEA/asystole

-heart blocks

-introduction to physiology of EKGs

-proper 12 lead placement

-Basic 12 Lead MI pattern recognition

 The course is designed for EMTs, nurses and similar technicians who have not yet learned to interpret arrhythmias or MI patterns.

 The student is strongly encouraged to have purchased Barbara Aehlert’s ECGs made easy (any version, new or used) and have reviewed the basic arrhythmia patterns prior to class
