Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) is a blended hybrid course meant to prepare students of all backgrounds how to react effectively in an active shooter situation. With the number of mass shootings rapidly increasing, individuals of any occupation should be prepared to respond until professional help arrives. This course is open to the public.

Students will complete an online portion prior to their hands-on skills training at our facility. Upon registration and payment received, students will receive a confirmation email with a link to their online portion.

Topics covered include:

• How to spot and respond to warning signs and potential threats 
• Bleeding control, i.e., how to use a tourniquet/TAC+PAC kits
• Evasion/escape methods
• Disarming techniques
• AVERT Active Shooter Survival Plan
