Course Description: The NAEMT PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) course, developed in conjunctiion with the American College of Surgeons, is a leading continuing education program for EMS Providers at all levels.

The 2-day PHTLS course promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, when given sound knowledge and key treatment principles, EMS Providers are capable of making effective decisions regarding patient care.

NAEMT PHTLS programs include a blend of presentations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice with scenarios to improve trauma patient outcomes.

Comprehensive, evidenced-based coverage incorporates the latest research across all aspects of prehospital trauma in one convenient resource.

The NAEMT PHTLS curriculum includes:

Who Should Enroll: All levels of prehospital providers, including EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, and physicians, as well as emergency first responders, firefighters, and other medical personnel who encounter trauma patients outside the hospital.

Pre-Course Work: Students must complete the PHTLS Pre-Test before attending the class. Instructions are included in the confirmation email on how to access this free online module.
