BLS Healthcare Provider CPR/AED

Basic Life Support Provider (BLS Provider)

Course Description: The American Heart Association BLS Provider course is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who may need to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation to patients in a wide variety of settings, as well as individuals enrolled in a healthcare training program. This is an 4-hour in-person course.

Who Should Enroll: This course is for initial BLS Provider certification or those who have let their BLS certification expire. It is the standard for personnel who need to perform high-quality chest compressions, apply appropriate ventilation techniques and other basic life support skills in various settings covering adults, children and infants. The class also includes AED use and choking relief.

Class Format: 3CPR BLS Provider courses include a blend of AHA presentations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice with scenarios aimed at improving patient outcomes. Students must be physically capable of performing high-quality chest compressions.

Pre-Course Work: There is no precourse work required for this class.

Outcomes: Within 72 hours of successful completion of the class, you will receive BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, that is valid for two years.

BLS Renewal

Basic Life Support Renewal (BLS Renewal)

Course Description: The American Heart Association BLS Provider Renewal course is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who may need to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation to patients in a wide variety of settings, as well as individuals enrolled in a healthcare training program. This is an 3-hour in-person course.

Who Can Enroll: This course is for students with a current non-expired BLS card issued by the AHA. Once your BLS card has expired you are no longer eligible to attend a renewal course. Please bring proof of your current non-expired BLS card.

Class Format: 3CPR BLS Provider courses include a blend of AHA presentations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice with scenarios aimed at improving patient outcomes. Students must be physically capable of performing high-quality chest compressions.

Pre-Course Work: There is no precourse work required for this class.

Outcomes: Within 72 hours of successful completion of the class, you will receive BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, that is valid for two years.

BLS Hybrid Class Online/Skills

Basic Life Support - Skills

This class is for current and future healthcare providers, whether you have been in the field for 20 years or are about to start your first day of school in the medical field.

BLS Hybrid Class Online/Skills: This course can be done for initial BLS certification or renewal. This is a Hybrid course with an online portion done through the American Heart Association, which can take anywhere from 1-3 hours, and an in class skills testing portion, which take approximately 1 hour.

Class length may vary due to

  • Class size, which is normally very small (only 2 to 5 students average per class)
  • Skill level
  • Time for discussion
  • Practice, testing and remediation if indicated 

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive an AHA course completion card valid for 2 years

AMLS Advanced Medical Life Support

THE NAEMT Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) course is the first EMS education program that fully addresses how to best assess and manage the most common medical crises in patients, offering a "think outside the box" training methodology.

It is for all levels of practitioners with a strong commitment to patient care, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists and physicians.

The course emphasizes the use of scene size-up, history, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, and physical exam to systematically rule out and consider possibilities and probabilities in treating patients' medical crises.

The course offers an initial assessment-based approach that progresses to a diagnostic-based approach to quickly develop the best treatment plan. Course Description: The NAEMT PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) course, developed in conjunctiion with the American College of Surgeons, is a leading continuing education program for EMS Providers at all levels.

The 2-day PHTLS course promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, when given sound knowledge and key treatment principles, EMS Providers are capable of making effective decisions regarding patient care.

NAEMT PHTLS programs include a blend of presentations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice with scenarios to improve trauma patient outcomes.

Comprehensive, evidenced-based coverage incorporates the latest research across all aspects of prehospital trauma in one convenient resource.

TECC Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)

The NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course prepares EMS providers to manage severe trauma in high-threat civilian environments, emphasizing life-saving interventions through the MARCH mnemonic.

TECC instruction combines presentations, guided discussion, and extensive hands-on practice structured across three operational phases: Direct Threat (under fire), Indirect Threat (threat suppressed), and Evacuation Care. This approach is designed to reduce preventable deaths until patients can be transferred to definitive medical care.

Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid’s TECC program is delivered over two days (16 hours). Day One is conducted in a classroom setting and focuses on core concepts.

Day Two immerses participants in practical field exercises. Learners apply their skills in realistic scenarios incorporating simulated gunfire, smoke, strobe lighting, fireworks, artificial blood, and other sensory stressors.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive certification valid for 4-years through the NAEMT and 16-hours of CAPCE credit.

TCCC - ASM

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) was created by the U.S. Department of Defense Committee on TCCC (Co-TCCC) to teach  evidence-based, life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care on the battlefield.

TCCC-ASM (TCCC for All Service Members) is a course that teaches TCCC concepts and lifesaving skills to render basic medical aid to a trauma casualty.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Tourniquet Application
  • Wound Packing
  • NPAs
  • Chest Seals
  • Needle Decompressions
TCCC-CMC

TCCC Combat Medic/Corpsman (TCCC CMC) is a 63-hour course for combat medics, corpsmen, pararescue personnel and other military medical personnel being deployed into combat. 

This course is intended to train participants to provide more advanced prehospital casualty care than is taught in the ASM or CLS courses. Instruction includes the use of advanced medical equipment and knowledge in the management of life-threatening injuries commonly encountered on the battlefield. 
 
Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid’s Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) class is a 5-day course. There will be 3 days of classroom instruction and 2 days of hands-on practice at our new, outdoor shoothouse.
 
Field instruction will give participants the opportunity to practice skills in realistic scenarios with simulated gun fire, smoke machines, strobe lights, fire works, simulated blood, etc.
TEMS

This course is designed for participants who work, will work, or desire to work on any special operational Law Enforcement or Military unit such as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.

This specialized medical course is structured for prehospital TACTICAL EMS providers assigned to law enforcement SWAT teams. The mission of this course is to expand the student’s knowledge of emergency medical care within the tactical environment.

The course will incorporate lectures, practice, and scenario-based training to provide emergency medical providers with the foundation principles, practices, and skills necessary for providing medical support to law enforcement operations.

The emphasis will be on medical models and skills that effectively support special operations teams during high-risk, large-scale, and extended operations.

The concepts and skills taught in this course are also relevant to all law enforcement operations.

Upon completion of this 4-day course, participants will receive a 3-year TCCC-ASM and a 4-year TECC certification through NAEMT.

Participants will also receive a TEMS certification and be enabled to complete ISBC-TR-C or ISBC-TR-P testing individually.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Course Description:

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program™ is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. This course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn.

The causes, prevention, and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so that health professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.

You can choose from Provider or Advanced Provider (Advanced is prefered by most employers).

NRP 9th Edition Part One (Online)

Please note that the NRP 9th Edition Part One online module is not included in the class price.  You must purchase and complete this independently before bringing the completion certificate to class.

The NRP 9th Edition Part One (Online) must be completed within 30 days of the start of class. Without it, we will have to reschedule you to a different date.

NRP 9th Edition Part Two (Instructor-Led Skill Evaluation)

Review & Practice: An instructor guides you through key skills like positive-pressure ventilation (PPV), chest compressions, airway management, and equipment use, often using the "MR SOAPA" steps for troubleshooting.

Performance Skills Station: Hands-on practice of specific technical skills with instructor feedback.

Integrated Skills Station: More complex scenarios that build on previous lessons, allowing instructors to assess your ability to lead a team through increasing challenges.

Simulation & Debriefing: Realistic, simulated scenarios where you apply cognitive and technical skills in a safe setting, focusing on communication and teamwork without direct coaching during the event.

Continued Education Credits

Up to 12-hours of Continung Education Credit will be offered for the examination for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and emergency medical service professionals.

 
BLS Instructor

Ever want to become a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association? Here is your chance. Class includes instructor manual, class observation, and didactic instructor course. You must currently have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare provider cert.  If you do not have a current BLS CPR Cert you can add it on with the Instructor course.

You *MUST* be a RN, Paramedic, RT or higher level provider in order to become an PALS Instructor.

You *MUST* be an experienced BLS and ACLS instructor before you can enroll in the PALS instructor course. ***

Basic EKG Interpretation

Basic EKG Interpretation 

Course Description: This 8-hour course is designed for beginners with little to no experience reading EKGs. The curriculum is designed to teach students how to identify normal and abnormal waveforms, sinus, atrial, and ventricular, and rhythms, as well as heart blocks

Who Should Enroll: The course is designed for EMTs, Nurses and similar technicians who have not yet learned to interpret arrhythmias or MI patterns.

 

Curriculum:

- Introduction to physiology of EKGs

 -Difference between use of 3- and 12- lead EKGs

- Critical interval measurements (PR interval; QRS duration; QTc)

- Bradycardias (slow rhythms)

- Tachycardias (fast rhythms)

- PEA & Asystole

- Heart blocks

- Proper 12 lead placement

- Basic 12 Lead MI pattern recognition

Recommended Reading: Studentst are strongly encouraged to obtain a copy of Barbara Aehlert’s ECGs Made Easy and review the basic arrhythmia patterns prior to class.

HeartSaver CPR/AED/First Aid Course Description.

 

Colorado Cardiac CPR’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid:  This course is for individuals NOT in the healthcare field. This course also is for both initial certification and recertification.

Course duration: Approximately 5 hours, however duration may vary due to:

  • Breaks for bathroom and water
  • Discussion of topics in video
  • Practice of hands on skills 

Course Completion:

  • After Completion of the class your organization will be sent an invoice via QuickBooks.
  • Once the invoice is paid course completion cards will be sent via Email to the students from the AHA.

Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS)

The ASLS class is a blended learning course.

The AHA’s ASLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving skills; aiming to educate prehospital and in hospital healthcare providers to optimize the identification, evaluation and treatment of patients with acute stroke, and identify the five main stroke syndromes and relate them to pathophysiology and clinical signs. The course objective is to explain the importance of an organized approach to treating patients with stroke for improved patient outcomes, and describe the management goals also. This course meets the education requirements for Stroke Center Certification.

ASLS® requires an Online Course and a 2-3 hour skill session. The skills session includes discussion, practical application and a skills test.

Estimated ASLS Online course completion times:

- Prehospital Provider: 3-6 hours 

- In-Hospital Provider: 4-8 hours 

- Prehospital & In-Hospital Provider: 5-9 hours 

*Because the online portion is adaptive, meaning that you follow a learning path personalized by your inputs and self-reported confidence level, the time it takes to complete the online portion depends on your knowledge level. 

This blended course requires that you have a computer and internet access.
